The Gospel also supported a vegetarian lifestyle, focusing on compassion and non-violence towards all living beings. “If I am lifted up on the cross then indeed shall the Lamb be slain; […] Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the beasts and birds that are slain by men.”
As we celebrate the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian), you may wonder why it was necessary for Him to go through the painful death of the crucifixion. The Bible teaches us that He died to atone for the sins of people at that time.
“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, […]”
“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, […]”
What kind of grave sins did the people of that time commit so that the Son of God had to sacrifice His own life? In direct contradiction to God’s first Commandment “Thou Shalt Not Kill,” animal-people sacrifice was commonly practiced in those days. In fact, the Temple in Jerusalem was the center of this gruesome custom.
Based on a study of bones found in an ancient dump in the city dating back 2,000 years, the scale of animal-people sacrifice was astounding. Dr. Gideon Hartman, a researcher at the University of Connecticut, says,
“The study shows that there is a major interprovincial market that enables the transfer of vast numbers of animals that are used for sacrifice and feasting in Jerusalem during that time period.”
The old testament contains many descriptions of mass slaughter of animal-people for sacrifice, especially during festivities. This bloody business was responsible for the growth of the city’s economy.

What was Jesus’ take on animal-people sacrifice? In the Holy Bible, one of the most famous and well documented scenes in Jesus’ life is the cleansing of the temple.
“On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. And as He taught them, He said, ‘Is it not written: “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations”? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’”
“So He made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; He scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.”
Although today’s Bible contains limited text related to vegetarianism, in the “Gospel of the Holy Twelve,” or “Gospel of the Nazarenes,” translated directly from an ancient Aramaic manuscript found in a Tibetan monastery, it is a core theme of Lord Jesus’ Holy Teachings.
“The early 19th century, a scholar named Gideon Jasper Ouseley, who lived from 1835 to 1906, traveled to remote parts of the world searching for a rare document. This document was a controversial version of the Bible that challenged traditional teachings. Gideon Jasper Ouseley, driven by a deep curiosity, wanted to find the Gospel of the Holy Twelve, also known as the Gospel of the Perfect Life.
This scripture was very different from usual Christian texts. It started the Lord’s Prayer with ‘Our Father Mother,’ suggesting that God included both male and female aspects, called Abba Amma. This idea meant that God was not just a father but also a mother to everyone.

In this ancient text, Lord Jesus Christ reveals at the Last Supper a primary reason for His glorious manifestation on Earth 2,000 years ago.
“If I am lifted up on the cross then indeed shall the Lamb be slain; […] Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the beasts and birds that are slain by men.”
Many other verses, where Jesus was spelled as “Iesus,” describe His mission to awaken humanity to turn away from the gruesome and devilish practices of blood offerings and animal-people meat eating.
“And Iesus answered: No blood offering, of beast or bird, or man, can take away sin, for how can the conscience be purged from sin by the shedding of innocent blood? Nay, it will increase the condemnation.”
“But I say unto you: Shed no innocent blood nor eat ye flesh. Walk uprightly, love mercy, and do justly, and your days shall be long in the land.”
“And Iesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, they who partake of benefits which are gotten by wronging one of God’s creatures, cannot be righteous; nor can they touch Holy things, or teach the mysteries of the Kingdom, whose hands are stained with blood, or whose mouth are defiled with flesh.”
Because of their massive killing karma, people at that time would have faced hellish consequences, if not for salvation by an Enlightened Master living among them – Lord Jesus Christ (vegetarian). To save His disciples, His believers and their ancestors and associates, Jesus willingly took on their suffering by dying on the cross in agony and public humiliation.
“[Lord] Jesus died for humankind. (Yes, Master.) Even if He could not lift all of them up to Heaven, after He died, He lifted His disciples up (Yes.) and those who believed in Him at that time. (Yes, Master.) He also blessed this planet to some degree. (Yes.) And stopped many of the crimes and the rotten society behavior, because of His teachings that were left behind even though it’s already chopped or broken. (Right.) But people still know. Many people still know what’s right from wrong.”
Two thousand years later, in our current time, the practice of massacring animal-people has become even more widespread globally. The innocent animal-folks are completely defenseless against the high-tech modern machinery deployed in countless slaughterhouses and factories. Their painful screams and spilled blood shake both Heaven and Earth, and are wickedly kept hidden behind closed doors, out of the public eye. This hidden tactic spells out loud that whatever is behind the tightly shut doors is nothing good, in fact, it openly screams evil.
Furthermore, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and Guttmacher Institute, approximately 73 million induced abortions occur globally each year, equating to about 200,000 abortions per day worldwide. Wars and conflicts are also breaking out in different parts of the world. God’s commandment of “Thou Shalt Not Kill” has been forgotten or ignored by a huge part of the world’s population. ETC…
Just as Lord Jesus Christ died and resurrected Himself 2,000 years ago to save people in His time, our Most Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has resurrected Herself in our present time. The measure was a desperate means to neutralize some of the bad karma incurred by humans today through warmongering, abortions, and animal-people exploitation, thus reducing the suffering and calamities that would have befallen the planet in our modern era.
“In this lifetime, I lost my life also, once. Many times, not just once – but sometimes it’s because of the karma of the world, and nowadays you can revive. And one time I had to kind of bury myself alive and regain my life again. If I stayed longer in that grave, I would have died. So it had to be quick. Still, it was like a loss of life and resurrected again. It had to be done that way.
One time I told you that it could cost the Master’s life. That was the time. And some other times in different situations…”
“Now, thanks to God Almighty that I am made to remember this method of saving the world. This method involves the death of the Master – either completely, if it fails; or temporarily, for a short while, and the Master is revived. After the Master is revived, then the Master has more power. And then, because the death of the Master will somehow delete some of the karma, so She/He can revive and become more powerful in order to continue this way, this method to save humankind and the Earth. Easy to say – not easy to do, not easy to accomplish.”
“But then, nowadays, they don’t kill you. They can’t. It’s just there will be some kind of a disease or some accident or something so that you have to go under almost like dead, and then come back – same person. But it doesn’t matter. I’m still here. I just want to tell you the situation.”
Just like Lord Jesus Christ, Supreme Master Ching Hai has never stopped reminding people of the true meaning of God’s Holy commandment “Thou Shalt Not Kill,” in Her all-out effort to lead us back to the righteous path. In a recent message dated March 8, 2026, She said:
“We, Heaven Team, including myself – I am the leader of the Heaven Teams Who are working to save humans, to save the planet, save human souls, save human standards of quality, to remember they are God’s children, they’re the princes, princesses of Heavens. That’s Our job. We are doing it very well and trying very hard. But humans themselves must also understand and accept it, and return to Heaven Quality, including compassion, including benevolence, including being helpful to others. And above all, never murder your own children or help people to murder their children and/or kill innocent animal-people or help to kill innocent animal-people, and even eat them. I just really pray that one day each and all of you will see that picture within yourself, how the karma works to make you suffer later on. Some suffer immediately. […]
And eating vegan, you save hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of lives, all of your lifetime. Oh, how much incredible, great merits that you earn by Heaven’s observation and judgment.”
Supreme Master Ching Hai continues the Mission of Lord Jesus Christ two thousand years later, teaching people to live in peace, love and kindness. She addresses God as “MaPa” similarly to “Our Father Mother” or “All-Parent” in the “Gospel of the Holy Twelve.”
“We thank You, Lord, for Your Generosity,Your Love, and Your Compassion for us. May You be also free, my Lord, from suffering because humans are Your children. And when they have done wrong, they go to hell, You suffer. I’m doing my best to lessen that for You. You know that. And it’s much, much less now. I will continue. I don’t just help humans or animal-people, You know that. I’m trying also to minimize, lessen, or completely nullify Your suffering. May You help me to do whatever You want me to do, my Lord, my MaPa – Mother and Father – so Loving, so Compassionate, so Kind, so Forgiving. Thank You, MaPa.

On September 21, 2007, She wrote the note “Hi! Heavenly PaMa of Mine!” to accompany the photo of a swan-person She took at the Amoura Lake in France. The photo was collected in Her book The Noble Wilds published in 2008.
