A UK vet advises dog-people caregivers to wash their pet-folks’ water bowls daily, scrubbing for 30 seconds with hot soapy water to remove bacterial biofilm that can build up in stagnant bowls; she warns that poor bowl hygiene can expose dog-people to harmful bacteria linked to gastrointestinal illness and, in some cases, kidney infections, noting that stainless steel bowls are safer than plastic, which can trap odors and bacteria (Country Living)
A private initiative in Argentina launches AdoptAR, a national online platform that centralizes dog- and cat-people rescue, fostering, and adoption, including an image-matching tool that reconnects lost pet-folks with their families; the system aims to reduce fragmentation across social networks, support responsible adoption, and address animal-people overpopulation while highlighting the emotional and health benefits of adopting rather than buying pet-folks (Noticias Ambientales)
Specialists recommend specific sleeping postures to alleviate back pain and ensure spinal alignment. Side sleepers should place a pillow between their knees, while back sleepers benefit from support under their knees to preserve the spine’s natural curve. While stomach sleeping is discouraged, pelvic support can minimize strain, helping prevent stiffness and promoting long-term musculoskeletal health (Lao Động)
The plank is a vital exercise for assessing core strength in individuals over 55. Core muscles play a crucial role in maintaining posture, protecting the lower back, and facilitating movement between the upper and lower body. For this age group, the duration of a plank serves as a benchmark for physical health: Under 20 seconds: Indicates a need for core improvement. 20–40 seconds: Reflects below-average endurance. 40–60 seconds: Shows solid core strength. 60–90 seconds: Demonstrates good stability and control. Over 90 seconds: Represents high-level core fitness and excellent overall physical condition. (Lao Động)
A new study in the journal Science reveals that wildlife-folk trade significantly increases human disease risk. Traded mammals are 1.5 times more likely to share pathogens with people, with risks growing for every decade a species remains marketed (News Medical Life Sciences)
Global ocean surface temperatures reached near-record highs this March at around an average of 20.97°C. Unseasonal March and April heatwaves are gripping multiple continents, breaking decades-long seasonal records in some cases. Experts link the extreme heat to greenhouse gas emissions and an anticipated return of El Niño, prompting authorities in some affected regions to open cooling centers and distribute free drinking water (Thanh Niên)
Winter storms in early 2026 cause up to 20 meters of beach retreat along Portugal’s coast, leading authorities to launch a €111 million plan for emergency sand replenishment, dune reinforcement, cliff stabilization, and other coastal protection work, while experts note that long-term erosion is driven by sea-level rise, extreme weather, and decades of human-caused sediment loss (euronews)
Finland prepares to open Onkalo, the world’s first permanent spent nuclear fuel repository, a €1 billion facility built over two decades since 2004, where copper-sealed nuclear waste will be buried more than 400 meters underground (euronews)

In Part 1 of 2 of Lee Papa’s near-death experience, American mindfulness coach Lee shares how a week-long illness brought her to the threshold of death, where two Light beings showed her what her young son would suffer if she died — and asked her to choose.
In 2003, Lee and her husband relocated from Los Angeles to Las Vegas to care for her elderly mother. Within months, her husband was rear-ended in a serious car accident that left him disabled, transforming his personality. Despite these hardships, Lee became pregnant, and her mother moved in, and for a time, it seemed things might be getting better. By 2008, however, the housing market had collapsed, they did not escape the foreclosure wave, and Lee — who had long been prone to illness — developed an upper respiratory illness. Her husband had left for a 10-day silent meditation retreat with no phone contact. Her toddler son, just days shy of his third birthday, was taken in by a friend. Her mother, who was usually around, was nowhere in sight.
As I was lying in the sunlight that day, I let my body go, and my spirit lifted out. And it was the most freeing, beautiful, peaceful experience of my life. I went into the Light, the most beautiful, lightning strike, extraordinary white Light that we do not have the words to describe. I was a sphere of Light. I did not have my body, and it felt as natural as having the body does here, and I felt released and free and happy and blissful and peaceful and calm and excited to be there. And there was absolutely no attachment, there was no fear, there was no actually anything of what I let go. And in this Light, I was the sphere of Light, but there were variations of Light, so you could distinguish what it was. But I felt that it was kind of like a holding place, like I wasn’t quite there, like almost the platform of a train, right — I was on the platform of the train going to the other side.
And then I noticed two Light beings heading my way from the distance, and yet it was no distance — it’s kind of hard to describe. And these two spheres became Light beings, so shaped in human form, but Light, brilliant white Light. And one on the left was a little larger, more masculine; the one on the right, more feminine energy — not that the visual was feminine or masculine, but the essence of them was. And then they morphed in and out of the physical form, what I would call the physical form, versus the sphere form. And they began to communicate with me telepathically, as one thought and then individual thoughts. And they greeted me, and I was ready to go. They greeted me with calm, with kindness, but with purpose. And what they explained was that I had complete free will to go to the other side, to make this transition, and I was ready. I was like, “Yes, let’s go.” But it was apparent that they had a job to do, that they were there to make sure that I had all the information to be able to make this decision clearly.
Then the Light beings showed Lee the deepest bonds of her life in a way she had never experienced before. This was a relationship review, whereas I didn’t see anything on a screen or anything visual — it was about feeling. And I know that I went through all my soul group and the feeling of the relationship, but the only two that I remember were my husband at the time and my son. So the first one being my husband: I felt this unconditional love, this pureness of love for the experience, and the appreciation for the knowledge and wisdom of having this relationship. And it was beautiful. There was no attachment, there was no would’ve, could’ve, should’ve, there was no judgment, there was nothing about, oh, what’s going to happen when I’m gone — none of that. It was just the purity of the love and appreciation for the experience. And then, as I think it was strategic, the Light beings gave me my son, the relationship of my son. And oh, the pureness, the softness of this love was so divine and beautiful, and I was so appreciative of being able to be the mother of this incredible being, and I was gushing. I was in just such love and appreciation of the knowledge and wisdom of the experience. And then, after the experience washed away, like the others did, I was calm, and I felt wonderful, and I was like, “OK, great, let’s go.” I still had no attachment; I still had no desire to go back.
But before Lee could go, the Light beings had one more thing to show her — what the loss of his mother would do to her little son. And with that, I felt this extraordinary pain. And I described it as shards ripping through your soul. Join us tomorrow for Part 2 of 2 of Lee Papa’s near-death experience. (The Other Side NDE)
